Week 30 09.06.2024
It's been a while since my last update, primarily because my weight loss progress has slowed down. Currently, I have lost 51 pounds over the past 30 weeks. However, this week I gained 3 pounds, which feels overwhelming—as if I've gained 10 pounds. I feel extremely bloated and can't pinpoint the reason. Although I avoid soda and sugary drinks, I've decided to increase my water intake to see if it helps.
My age plays a contributing factor in my journey , I just celebrated my birthday , I’m 53 but I don’t feel 53 but as we get older everything seems harder .
Regarding my diet, I don't consider food a major issue since I avoid fast food and am very conscious of what I eat. My diet includes a lot of lean meats, but no red meat because it doesn't agree with me, and plenty of greens. Recently, I've developed a liking for stuffed garlic green olives, which might be contributing to my bloated feeling due to their salt content. Another potential issue is my consumption of zero-sugar Gatorade.
I'm still on weekly Mounjaro injections, currently at a 7.5 mg dose due to shortages of higher doses. Unfortunately, these higher doses might not be available for several more months. I could increase my dose, but the cost is prohibitive since my insurance doesn't cover Mounjaro. I’ve noticed that other insurance providers do cover it, so I plan to advocate for coverage with my provider. Zero side effects .The food noise , isn’t there meaning I have no cravings for that burger and fries .. I don’t have that voice in my head to make unhealthy choices . My mindset is solid .
My exercise routine remains consistent and motivating. I go to the gym regularly and play pickleball 3-4 times a week, burning between 1,500 and 1,800 active calories daily. Despite my dedication, consuming enough protein continues to be a challenge.
Although I'm discouraged by this week's weight gain, I'm more determined than ever to stay on track. I’ve made too much progress to let a small setback dictate my journey. This experience will only motivate me to push harder and maintain my commitment to a healthier lifestyle.
